My Story
"My love for animals and adventure defined my journey."
Â
Hi, Iâm Wendy Harris, a middle child sandwiched between two brothers, Ronan and David, who, like me, work in tech. Out of the three of us, Iâm definitely the one who is the most craic. Iâm also adopted, and as a kid, I used to (very confidently) tell everyone Iâd been âabducted.â Awkward? Just a little!
My lifelong love for animals started early. I got my first dog, Misty, when I was seven, after relentlessly pleading with my dad. It mightâve been the fact that I was telling people, âWeâll get a dog when daddy diesâ that finally wore him down.
At eight, I was given the choice between swimming and horse ridingâand, much to my parentsâ regret (for financial reasons!), I chose horses. Two years later, I got my first pony, Honeybunch, and then Troy at 13. My equestrian journey took me all the way to representing Ireland at the European Pony Championships in Germany when I was just 15.
Trading Floors to Tech Titans
"How I made the leap from finance to tech, one interview at a time."
Â
After secondary school, I earned a scholarship to Trinity College Dublin, where I studied Business and French. I even spent a year abroad at the University of Tours in France.
In my final year at Trinity, I attended a Goldman Sachs event solely for the free food and drinks. But it was a video of the trading floor that truly captivated me, leading to six months and 32 interviews (yes, really!), before landing a role. I spent the next 11 years working on the fast-paced trading floors of London and Chicago.
In 2013, I made the leap from finance to tech, moving from the UK back to Ireland. It wasnât an easy transitionâafter a full year of interviewing, I finally landed a contract marketing role at Meta, earning just 10% of my previous salary. But that didnât stop me.
I hustled my way up the ranks, holding leadership roles at companies like AdRoll, Dropbox, CarGurus, Gong and now Rippling.

Rescues, Adventures, and New Beginnings
"From saving pups to exploring the worldâhow 2023 sparked a journey of travel, writing, and launching my business"
Â
On St. Patrickâs weekend in 2014, I rescued the love of my life, Patrick P. Pooch, from a pound where he was scheduled to be put down. Weâve been inseparable ever since. Two beautiful equine brothers, Arlo and Atreyu, came along in 2020 and 2022 respectively. Then in February 2023, our family grew again with the addition of Edward, a pup we found abandoned on a roundabout in Ireland.Â
After a whirlwind career, I travelled the world in 2023, visiting incredible places like Koh Samui, Napa Valley, LA, Mykonos, Lake Garda, Normandy, Ohio, Charleston, Patagonia, Buenos Aires, and the Atacama Desert in Chile, where I saw my beloved flamingos in the wild.
In 2024, I began writing my book and launched my own business, bringing all my experiences and passion into a new chapter. My book is now complete, and at the start of 2025, a new opportunity came along that felt too wonderful to pass up. I'm thrilled to have taken on a new adventure as Head of EMEA for Rippling!
